What a beautiful night for racing! The track was magnificent! The chatter in the pits was about last week after all the rain. The track surface was less than ideal. But this week the track crew put in a total of 400 man hours into it! It really showed as the track was fast and smooth.
Time Trials saw a few really good race cars get into the wall. Most notable was the 7x of Jesse Glenz who was unable to get his machine repaired in order to continue. Heat race action was fast and clean. There was little time to sit around and wait for anything to happen as 10 laps goes very quickly when the cars are hooked up and flying.
A Feature
WOW what a race! We ran the first 20+ laps caution free. It was starting to feel as we may go the distance. Tyler Peterson in the 1TPO car looked smooth as ice out there as he drove an amazing race and was never really contested until lap traffic came into play. Shane Sabraski picked up Best Appearing Car honors tonight. He wheels the 7A. Starting 6th, he slowly and patiently moved himself up into the bridesmaid spot ahead of the 22E of Kevin Eder who started 4th. The real mover was Wissota Challenge Series point leader, Cole Searing in the 10 car. Cole had unfortunate contact in his heat race passing for 2nd which sent him to the rear and forced him to run the B Main. He started 19th and finished in the 4th spot. That's a +15 on the night.
Notable missing drivers from tonight's action were 28 Sam Mars who sat 2nd in series points heading into tonight's race. The 11 of Pat Doar and the 85 of John Kaanta were also absent. Pat and John are past series champions and perennial favorites wherever they go.
