Chris Madden now joins Jonathan Davenport and Brandon Overton as the 3 drivers eligible for the bonus and $100,000 payday should one of them be victorious Saturday night here in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. Madden claimed 20k versus Davenport's 7500 win and Overton's 10k win. The stakes keep increasing throughout this inaugural 4-day spectacle created by the great Vic Hill at Bulls Gap Speedway.

To get things rolling, we fired up the transponders and brought em out one-by-one. It's the proverbial race against the clock. Time Trials. Man vs Track. Hitting your marks. Balls to the wall. It's very important. Setting the Heat Race alignment which in turn sets the Main Event alignment. If you do poor racing yourself, you're likely not going to win. Unless pure greatness comes to visit you on this particular evening.

Group A Qualifying went to Mount Airy, North Carolina's, Benji Hicks. He did not drive 55 like his number. He got up on the high banks and punched out a cool little 12.737. Being the 9th to go out of 13, that was the perfect recipe for success in this opening round. But he did not earn fast time overall. The track sped up. Group B Time Trials saw the crowd get a tad bit excited when 4th to start Jonathan Davenport, saw this as his opportunity to get up front, possibly win, and block another driver from going after the 100k Saturday night. Davenport, often called Superman, saw a 12.580 on the scoreboard as he prepared to exit the racetrack. Nearly a half second quicker than runner-up Carson Ferguson.

With a low field of 26 cars, we would still run 4 heats. The more racing the better, I say! Heat Race #1 saw Chris Madden outduel Group A quick timer, Benji Hicks with Ricky Thornton Jr and Dale McDowell all advancing.

Heat Race #2 saw Brandon Overton and Devin Moran knock Michael Leach off his polesitter starting position into 3rd while Forrest Trent snuck in there as well punching his ticket.

Heat Race #3 was South Carolina's fast timer Jonathan Davenport seeking the hat trick. He crossed ahead of Arizona's Jake O'Neil, Alabama's Sam Seawright, and Tennessee's Mike Marlar.

Heat Race #4 saw front row starters swap positions. Out front large and in charge was Zack Mitchell over Carson Ferguson, Jimmy Owens, and Kyle Strickler.

A B Main was run to advance 6 drivers sending 4 straight back to their haulers. Those 6 who had fire running through their veins were Chris Ferguson who came out on top defeating Jeremy Steele, Cory Hedgecock, Jordon Horton, Luke Morey, and Garrett Smith.
Now the 22-car field was set for the Main Event. Madden and Davenport would lead them to green. Overton and Mitchell would join up front prior for the 4 wide salute.

Like I mentioned earlier, Davenport not only wanted the huge 20k single payday win which was massive. He wanted to block someone else from being extra motivated on finale night racing for those 100 G's. Davenport would lead laps 1-29, slip to 4th on lap 30 and then retired after a flat tire. Davenport does have 6 wins on the year. But he also has a staggering 6 DNF's.

After Davenport's demise, Madden was claimed head honcho. But Zack Mitchell thought otherwise. Mitchell was directly behind Madden throughout. Literally right up on him during several points. But in the end, Madden was "infinitely" better in his Infinity by Wells chassis house car.
There was quite a handful of drivers in the Mover & Shaker category who all passed around 7, 8, or 9 cars. Chris Ferguson was the lone assailant to pick off 9 moving from 17th to 8th. Psycho's Power Move of the Race goes to Ricky Thornton Jr in a 9th to 4th place run. Psycho's Drop the Anchor Award goes to Jonathan Davenport 2nd to 19th.
