~~~~~ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ~~~~~
March 30, 2018
By Psycho Billy
April 13-14 ~ Illini 100
Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, IL)
Today we would like to make an announcement to the entire racing community that we have chosen to cover the Illini 100.  When the March dates were postponed, that made a conflict with the Wheatland shows that we were also scheduled to cover and promote.  We will still continue to promote the Wheatland shows on our website but driver points will only be awarded at the Farmer City venue.
We have several good sponsors for the Illini 100 which has led us down that path. Several years ago, Farmer City Raceway was awarded our "2016 Home Track" award as we made more trips there than to any other facility in the country.  Going back for this one puts a grand smile on our faces.
So let's talk about this 2018 show.  The WOOLMS are bringing the bad boys of racing along with a whole slew of ROY candidates into Illinois.  With new series director, Matt Curl, being an Illinois native, this is likely going to be the best show ever at ole FCR.  We would like to see all of our devout fans head on over to Farmer City as the racing season here in the Midwest gets rolling with 30 consecutive weekends of big late model special events.
Night 1 will see a 25 lap affair as the Woo regulars battle the locals for that $6k to win.  Local Illinois stars such as Ryan Unzicker and Scott Schmitt are much more familiar with these tracks and these shorter race distances and have faired pretty good here in the past.  In 2016, Unzicker placed 2nd while Schmitt was 8th.  Pretty darn good in a national pro dirt racing series.  We expect more of the same.  However, with Josh Richards driving the Rocket house car, he swept both shows in '16.  Now with Brandon Sheppard behind the wheel (defending Woo points champion), he is the front runner to win the big 100 lapper.  The Saturday night flick will pay a cool, crisp $15 G's.
